10 litres of water to produce 1 sheet of A4 paper

I was reading the online news this morning and the following advertisement caught my attention!

Check out the fact that we need 10 litres of water to produce 1 sheet of A4 paper!!! OMG! I wonder how many trees we killed and how much water we consumed/ wasted daily...

Lets put our hands together and be more environmental-friendly. Let see what we can do to reduce the usage of papers and save our earth.
  1. Think before you print
  2. Print on both side of paper
  3. Do not throw away your newspapers/ magazines, recycle them
  4. Submit income tax online - fast, easy, and you do not need to worry that your forms will be missing in transit through snail mail
  5. Bring your own eco-bags during your shopping trips - this will help in eliminating the usage of paper bags and plastic bags

I'm sure there are a lot more ways. No matter what, just do our best, k? =)

*Cheers*

Hi Laura,

You are most welcome. Good luck in your assignment. :)

This is incorrect. Producing one tonne of paper pulp consumes from 5 to 50m3 of water. One sheet of A4 paper weighs 4.5 grammes.

This means that you need between 0.023 and 0.23 litres of water to produce one 4.5 gram sheet of paper.

But it's still a good idea to recycle and think before you print. It saves the forests, and (some) water ;-)

Dear Espen, Thanks for your comment.
Agree, bottom line, we should save papers! =)
